3rd Edition of the Montreal Human Rights Film Festival - MHRFF

The first edition of the MHRFF took place in 2006 under the direction of Images Interculturelles as part of the Action Week Against Racism.

The main objective is to create a cinematographic event where people can hold serious discussions on the topics of tolerance and human rights. The selected films report and celebrate actions of solidarity, denounce situations where the identity of individuals, groups, and whole nations are threatened.

This festival wishes to honour people active in the film trade and who are committed to make it means through which the Montreal public can discover quality creations not frequently seen in the commercial network. It is also the opportunity to bring out young filmmakers, and ultimately, to encourage the yet too rare film production on various aspects of human rights.

The programme combines a selection of films from various countries. It includes feature films, documentaries and animated films, and combines a list of avant-premières, premières, as well as films shown in other festivals.
